From a drawing, a sketch or a photograph to your room, in 6 to 10 weeks. We work with private clients, designers and architects: we propose dimensions, fillings and materials, manufacture in our factory in Freamunde and deliver assembled.
How it works
Initial conversation
A coffee at the Carvalhosa showroom or a 30-minute video call. We leave with your brief in writing: typology, room dimensions, daily use and deadline.
Proposal and drawing
You receive a proposal with technical drawing, dimensions, fillings, materials and production schedule. There is no price list: every sofa is quoted in detail.
Samples at hand
Fabrics (Group 2 to 7), leathers (Leather 2/3) and woods (beech, oak, walnut) sent to your door in Portugal and Spain, or couriered internationally, before you commit.
Production tracked
Photographs at every stage — CNC cutting, frame, stitching, final upholstery — so you can follow your sofa being made from start to finish.
Delivery and installation
Specialised logistics, on-site assembly and protected finishes. Each piece is hand-signed and shipped in dedicated packaging.

What to decide before ordering a made-to-measure sofa
Dimensions, layout and comfort
A corner sofa, chaise longue or straight sofa needs room around it for circulation and doors. Start with the available width and depth, and mark windows, sockets and radiators. Seat depth, back height and arm support help define how you sit and relax. A simple floor plan and photographs let us discuss these choices before preparing the technical drawing.
Fabrics, leather and finishes
Choose upholstery around everyday use, care requirements and the light in the room. We work with velvet, bouclé, linen, chenille, technical fabrics and leather, alongside beech, oak and walnut finishes. Compare samples in the room where the sofa will be used. If you supply your own fabric or leather, the sample and required quantity are checked before production.
How much does a bespoke sofa cost?
Each piece is quoted individually. Dimensions, frame construction, fillings, upholstery and finishes affect the price. Curves, modules and different seam details also require individual assessment. When comparing quotations, check what is included in materials, transport and installation; a reference photograph alone does not define the construction of a piece.

Common questions
Can a sofa be adapted to a small room?
Yes. Width, seat depth, back and arms can be considered together to suit the space. Send the available dimensions and circulation routes so we can assess a suitable layout.
When does the production lead time begin?
The usual lead time quoted for bespoke pieces is 6 to 10 weeks after order confirmation and final material selection. The schedule for your order and delivery conditions are set out in the quotation.
